Zaisalau is one of those creatives you spot once and she stays on your radar, possibly because she’s a lowkey babe. We first discovered her during the Primeries Africa styling challenge, where she won.
She’s got the eye for piecing together looks together and building full-on visual moods. Now fresh out of Babcock University with a degree in International Relations, Zaisalau is stepping fully into her styling bag and we’re here for it. In this Creator Spotlight, we catch up with her to talk fashion, creative growth and what’s next.
Q: Let’s start with an introduction — who is Zaisalau?
Hi! My name is Salau Elizabeth, I’m a 20-year-old fashion enthusiast with a deep love for art and self-expression. Whether it’s putting together outfits, curating moodboards, modeling, or capturing moments with my digital camera — I’m always finding new ways to create. I find peace at the beach, and music is a huge part of my inspiration. In 2022, I began exploring creativity seriously, and since then, it’s grown into something beautiful. Most recently, I co-founded a creative group called MNDS.inc with my friend Kuye — and I truly believe we’re building something powerful.
Q: How did your journey into fashion begin?
Fashion has always felt natural to me. I’ve had a strong sense of style from time, I realized it was more than a hobby — it’s how I communicate who I am.
Q: When did you officially start styling?
Styling officially began for me in December 2024, when I started creating moodboards for brands — curating streetwear and luxury looks in digital sets. A month later, I landed a job with Drip App, where I promoted their styling app through my boards. That opportunity gave me the confidence to keep pushing my vision.
Q: What are biggest your styling influences?
I pull inspiration from everywhere — conversations, emotions, places, people — but I especially love scrolling through Pinterest to spark new ideas. My style blends structured streetwear with high-end polish and personal flair.
Q: What have been your major jobs or collaborations so far?
Some of my recent work includes styling Zaylevelten for a Deloca Studios lookbook, and creating style guides for 808’s Kitchen and Activ.Yard — both exciting experiences that allowed me to bring my vision to life.
Q: What’s your goal in the fashion space?
My dream is to become a household name in fashion — to live a life filled with creativity, passion, fulfillment, and impact. I want to keep doing what I love and be recognized for it.
Q: Besides styling, what other creative hats do you wear?
Beyond styling, I’m also a model, content creator, and social media manager at Bridges Entertainment. I love taking pictures, writing concepts, and being involved in visual storytelling. Everything I do comes back to self-expression.
Q: What’s your take on creative communities like Greencamp NG?
I think platforms like Greencamp are vital for Nigeria’s creative scene. They give young talents space to grow, connect, and be seen — and that’s so important. We need more intentional communities like this.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share with the community?
I’m just really grateful for where I am and what’s ahead. Watching people support my journey, ask how I started, and show genuine interest reminds me that I’m on the right path. I’m excited for what’s next, and I know I’m just getting started.
